Accessible Tech Highlight: Puffin

It is often said that thanks to technology, the world is now at our fingertips. But what if you can’t use your fingertips?

Enter Puffin. Puffin is a device that comes in a small package that mounts to your wheelchair. You pair it with your phone via bluetooth and download the app. And that’s it! You can now control your phone and smart home devices with just your mouth.

Adriana Mallozzi is an entrepreneur with cerebral palsy and the inventor of Puffin. She is a quadriplegic wheelchair user who is innovating the way people with significant physical disabilities can access technologies. Puffin allows users to be more independent at home and expands access in educational and employment settings. You can use it to text your friends, order a Lyft, or open your garage door...the possibilities are endless. Users can also use the Puffin to track data and assist in developing their rehab treatment plans, connect with co-workers on Zoom, and write their papers for school. These are just a few of the many use cases for the device. If it can be done by tapping, it can be done with Puffin. Check them out today!
